AMD Graphic Card issue

Hello people of Arch,

I'm actually having an issue with my Lenovo's Laptop, i have a graphic card (AMD R5 M330) which i can't use to run apps/games and even my system isn't detecting it right.
Let me show you some outputs :

neofetch :

CPU: Intel i7-6500U (4) @ 3.1GHz
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 520
 GPU: AMD Radeon HD 8670A/8670M/8690M

lspci :

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 520 (rev 07)
03:00.0 Display controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Sun XT [Radeon HD 8670A/8670M/8690M / R5 M330 / M430 / R7 M520] (rev 83)

DRI_PRIME=1 glxinfo | grep "OpenGL renderer" :

radeon: Failed to allocate virtual address for buffer:
radeon: size : 65536 bytes
radeon: alignment : 4096 bytes
radeon: domains : 4
radeon: va : 0x0000000000800000

[1] 12714 segmentation fault (core dumped) DRI_PRIME=1 glxinfo |
       12715 exit 1 grep --color=auto --exclude-dir={.bzr,CVS,.git,.hg,.svn} "OpenGL renderer"

xrandr --listproviders:

Providers: number : 2
Provider 0: id: 0x68 cap: 0xb, Source Output, Sink Output, Sink Offload crtcs: 4 outputs: 5 associated providers: 0 name:Intel
Provider 1: id: 0x3f cap: 0x0 crtcs: 0 outputs: 0 associated providers: 0 name:HAINAN @ pci:0000:03:00.0

The problem is essentially in the fact that my neofetch recognize the bad graphic card, and my apps wont lance with DRI=1 PRIME.
Maybe there is a specific driver for my vga that i skipped ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: AMD Graphic Card issue

please use code tags, see https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php#bbcode

post full lspci -k and xorg log please (wiki Xorg page has details where xorg logs can be found)

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)

Re: AMD Graphic Card issue

Looks like radeon: Failed to allocate virtual address for buffer

You got (atleast) 2 options :

- boot with radeon.runpm=0 as kernel parameter.
(may result in a rather big performance hit)

- change kernel module that drives your card
your R5 M330 is a GCN 1st gen aka Southern Islands card and can be used with 2 kernel modules , radeon or amdgpu .
amdgpu is newer and supports more features, but tends to be not as stable.

I suggest you try amdgpu kernel module, see the admgpu archwiki page for details how to setup SI support.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
