(SOLVED) Kernel 4.14.3.1 USB Gigabit Ethernet

When I upgraded to linux 4.14.3-1 my gigabit usb Ethernet was not detected at all, and my wireless was deprecated to approx 15MBPs, down from 200 MBps. Has anyone else experienced this? Is something being phased out?

I did the obvious, downgraded the kernel - but I need to know what happened???

What vendor ID and product ID for each device?  What driver was in use for each device under 4.13 and what driver is in use under 4.14 if any?
What is the dmesg for 4.13.y and the dmesg for 4.14.y?

What kernel module is in use for this device (lspci -v)? There currently is an issue with Intel e1000e.

Kernel driver is r8169; modules r8169, r8101. The drivers are from a r8101-dkms (AUR) package that I need to upgrade manually (forgot). Maybe that will do it. Will check and close if necessary.

Re: (SOLVED) Kernel 4.14.3.1 USB Gigabit Ethernet

My bad. I was experimenting with two different usb gigaport Ethernet devices because I did not like the performance of the first one purchased. I purchased a second one that (after researching) I found would use different drivers. However, in /etc/wicd/manager-settings.conf I changed eno1 to be the first one, and then just started using the second one PNP, after AUR drivers load - never changed wicd to the second device. So after updating the AUR drivers, and renaming wicd's eno1 to the correct device name - it is working again. For some reason the kernel chose now to let me know of my error, after running with it for over a year.  My speed test is actually better than before, coming in @ 242 MBps, paying for 200. Take care.
