@slithery well yes and no mirrors that experience prolonged issues and do not respond to email contact for an explanation can be de dropped from the mirror list.

ngoonee I was trying to convey that arch does monitor the status of the the mirrors in the mirror list and does curate the list.
You are completely right that does not constitute control over a mirror.
