Unfortunatly modeset driver only lists 4:3 lower resolutions while my screen is 16:9. I don't have xorg.conf.

I've probably left my head... somewhere. Please wait untill I find it.

Post a full untruncated log, that excerpt tells us nothing (other than that you have xf86-video-intel installed and that the presence of both might cause issues, remove xf86-video-intel and retry).

Also "lsmod" and "lspci", please.

Ok. Stepping back. I know that my EDID is broken. On Gentoo intel driver (for whatever reason) fixed this (sort of - I never used modesetting driver). I installed xf86-video-intel specificly to use it to fix the EDID detection.

I've probably left my head... somewhere. Please wait untill I find it.

That was a good idea to look at modesetting. It seems that I need to force intel:
# /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "Virtualheads" "3"
EndSection
I still get the error message but at least the resolution works as intel driver is used.
