Here is an odd one.
I'm using a Lenovo ThinkPad X230 with a USB Keyboard. When I type the sequence TR it comes out as Tr. Which was very inconvenient as I was trying to type in a hidden password when I discovered this problem. I switched keyboards to a different brand and style, and it is still happening.
I cannot get this to happen on the Laptop keyboard, only by USB.
Here are some examples:
REALLY
EARLY
TrIGGER
TrUDEAU
TrAIL
LATER
LITER
TrUMP
BETTER
BETROTHED - Why not here
THROUGH
BTrOTHED
ABTrOTHED
BETROTHED
MOTR
CRATER
TRIGGER - paused between T and R
If I use the Caps lock the letters are sent correctly
TRIGGER
TRAIL
BETROTHED
- but if I hold the Shift key down then:
tRigger
tRail
betrothed
Can anyone else recreate this?
I'm using Latest Arch with Cinnamon. This happens in all apps, I discovered in a remote session.
Tried changing keyboards from EN/CA to EN/US and it's still occurring.
I'm not sure where to start debugging this.

Are you using libinput (xf86-input-libinput) or xf86-input-evdev?
Edit: If it is libinput, then maybe your keyboard is sending some strange events for this particular key sequence and it may run in this bug https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=232302
Edit: What happens if you try it in a text console without a GUI?

im desperately trying to guess the ideapad y510 bios password on my lenovo idepad, bought it from my friend who got it while in the army, really dont think its stolen, but i cant seem to write the flash area ffffffffffffffff, no problem messing up the cmos
is your password anything to do with this, i have found lots of very useful low level bios, chassis, acpi utilities from mydigitallife (careful because some creeps try to sneak in virus) sorry if this is off topic

pr0dukter, I have no idea what you are babbling about, but it has no relevance to this thread. Don't hijack: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … _hijacking

Follow up on this issue.
Since the new year, this has not been an issue. Same laptop setup, same USB Keyboard. I have done several updates since I posted this issue and have not experienced any more Keyboard issues.
TRIGGERED TRUMP BETROTHED - the TR sequence now produces the correct results.
I'll chalk it up to the butterfly effect.
