GPS navigation on laptop

Yep,

I've been looking for the best approach to get a GPS navigation system running on my laptop.
I was thinking to use google maps, but the online version does not provide this feature, neither the google-earth aur.
Then, I've been thinking to install android on a virtualbox to get running the google maps apps.
I don't mind to use something else then google, as long as it is working good.
Any suggestion/help, is appreciate :-)
