Hello,
I'm an "Archer" since 2007, but today I'm need some technical help :-)
I've installed Arch on a new Galaxy Book 10.6". But after days of work, I doesn't have sound working. I can't see any errors messages, nor in dmesg than with speaker-test.
Please find after some outputs. As you can see, Pulseaudio reports all ports as "available: no" or "unknown".
Any help will be very appreciated :-)

That pulseaudio reports outputs that don't have explicit sensing support as unkown is normal and doesn't inherently indicate a problem. Can you try playing something and post
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
pacmd list-sinks
pacmd list-sink-inputs
amixer -c0

Hello,
I did not succeed yet to make the sound working.
As suggested here : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=230572, I've tried to pass intel_iommu=off as a kernel paramater, but without positive change.
This multimedia chipset is reported to work very partially under Fedora, but I don't have more information.

I made some tests today with kernel 4.15rc7, manually compiled with the newly available Intel ASoC modules.
No joy...
So, the problem seems to not be related to drivers or codecs, but to configuration.
Question : when ALSA detects my cards, how does it chose the Realtek 'ALC298' codec ? Or How the system decide to use snd_hda_codec_realtek rather than another codec ?
I ask that, because on other sites, users facing problem with this chipset (Intel 8086:9d71) report differents codec modules (conexant for instance).
How find the theorical codec and model name for my soundcard ?
