[Solved]KVM GPU passthrough shows a blank screen

It turns out I just needed to wait for a few minutes for Windows to finish some initialization. Once the driver is loaded, I have the logon screen. Yay!

=========================================================================

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a windows 10 virtual machine and passthrough my Radeon 7850. I followed the steps in the wiki PCI passthrough via OVMF. Besides the GPU, I also passthrough a keyboard and a mouse. Now the VM seems to boot because I can no longer use the mous and keyboard anymore once the VM boots. Also I noticed a lot of disk activity, i.e. the blinking LED on my chasis.

Meanwhile, dmesg shows this line, I suppose the passthrough is successful (04:00.0 is my 7850)?

[  512.658057] vfio-pci 0000:04:00.0: enabling device (0000 -> 0003)

But the result is I do not get any output from the 7850 on the monitor. I've tried both using virt-manager and qemu. If using emulated graphics the VM boots fine, which means the OVMF should be ok.

And my motherboard is a Asrock B75m pro4.

Any ideas?

Edit:

I'm using the integrated GPU in my i5 4460 CPU for my host. Is the VGA arbiter patch stuff still relavent?
