need Xfoil

Im trying to get Xfoil to work. I downloaded the .gz file..i tarred it and followed the readme instructions but it seems to need a lot of stuff i dont have...isnt there a pacman i could use to download it and all its dependencies to make my life slightly simpler?

The short answer is no. pacman can only install compiled binary packages - your tarball provides the source code, ready to be compiled.

So, you could continue with what you're doing i.e. follow the README, install any missing dependencies, etc. but I would highly recommend that you use the Arch Build System (ABS) instead. This will create an Arch package, which you can then install, update, remove, etc with pacman. You could even submit the PKGBUILD to the AUR, to share it with other users.
