What about the fontshadow config tool from http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=53118
The author was planning on impriving it soon, so I guess he will have done that within a day... Guess it's for the next update. Hey thanx on this one, looks good!

Well, you cant kill my bandwidth, as i have unlimited of it ![]()
The last month there was 40GB traffic and it seems that its raising, for this month i am already at 35GB - but its really no problem
If you really want to build KDEmod from scratch (takes a looong time), just get the freshly uploaded PKGBUILDs from here: http://kdemod.ath.cx/repo/pkgbuilds/
You may also be interested in some handy scripts i use to build it. They're a bit cheap
but do their job... You can find them in the same directory on the server... Just place them in the kdemod-pkgbuilds folder and start them in the given order...

Thx
When i try to build the fontshadow tool i get some strange errors, and i already informed the author about that... I think i have to wait for the next version...

chaosgeisterchen wrote:@Master One: The named page was tested by me (KDEmod current) and the flash player does not work at all.
Then there has to be something other wrong with your installation, because it should generally work, but not properly. Do you have the latest flash-plugin installed? Did you enable automatic plugin-search on Konqueror start? Was the flash-plugin found by konquerer? When you visit the mentioned page, is the flash-area in the upper middle (has pictures, that change automatically every few seconds), and the flash-videoplayer in the upper right area shown at all?
On my last KDE installation, the latest flash plugin worked in Konqueror, and I do not remember any problems with it, so either there is something wrong with the latest flash-plugin, or with the mentioned site (don't know any similar website with more than one flash-area to test right now), it most likely is not Konqueror's fault, nor of KDEMOD I assume.
Seemed to be my fault. It works now, with minor interrupts during playback.

Thanks a lot. I'll look at your script but honestly I made my own script that rebuilds packages whenever abs files of installed packages change (I miss my good ol' Source Mage so I made Archlinux meta-distro).
Best regards.
Q
[edit]
Are those PKBUILDs recent?
kdebase binary revision is -5 and PKBUILD has it -2.

well I fixed it, really don't know how, since I tried so many things. I set the font w/ gtk2_prefs, then I changed my dpi, and finally I changed to use kde font in kcontrol.

qdlaty: The PKGBUILDs on the server are the same release as the actual packages, i just re-checked this...
somairotevoli: could you somehow remember what you did to solve it? Some people had the same problem, and it would be a good topic for the FAQ and also something that should not be forgotten ![]()
I have also put some work into the font settings (comes with the next update), and the fonts should now have better rendering on machines where KDEmod is started for the first time... Its not solved completely, as KDE messes up the defaults when starting the first time, but its at least better than the former setup...
superstoned: Thx. Well, if someone can port this look to wordpress ... ![]()
btw (OT): It seems that the oxygen visual style got imported into KDE`s SVN, there are also some mockups available, and i really like what i see ![]()

Well, I did a reinstall first. Installed gtk-qt-engine and set to use another font in kcontrol and also tried w/ kdefont. Still was having the same problem. Then I applied my old fonts.conf file. Then I installed gtk2_prefs and from there I was at least able to set the font. Then I changed my dpi for the hell of it. And finally I went bk to Gtk-styles and fonts and told it to use kde font, and at the same time I had noticed that anti-aliasing under fonts in kcontrol was neither checked or unchecked (if that make sense) so I checked it. There may have been some other things I tried and I may have made more then one change before logging out/in.
BTW, thanks for all your hard work!

Great work. KDEMod is a very good modular KDE.
Keep up the good work.

another update (uploading...)
new packages:
kdemod-kdenetwork-knewsticker
kdemod-kdeaddons-knewsticker-scripts
kdemod-kde-i18n-cs (czech)
kdemod-kde-i18n-el (greek)
kdemod-kde-i18n-pt (portugese)
changes:
- improved font rendering on first startup (not perfect but should be better now)
- some kmenu entries (like the arts tools) are now hidden by default because no one uses them ![]()
- replaced the ugly icon in kcontrols samba configuration with a nicer one
Dunkelstern also contributed another fine (experimental) patch:
- made kopetes jabber / jingle support compile with the latest ortp (PLEASE UPDATE ORTP TO THE LATEST VERSION FROM COMMUNITY (0.13) IF YOU WANT TO USE JABBER)

I'm attempting to update, and I'm getting an error that "kdemod-kdemultimedia-base-3.5.6-2.pkg.tar.gz is not found on the server...
Is is supposed to be there? Is is uploading?

Wanted to burn an audio cd from wav files with k3b, but it quits with signal 6 (SIGABRT) whenever I drag a wav into the burning window... Tried an older version of k3b with the same effect. I suspect kdemod to have something to do with it. Can anyone confirm this?

I get the same when trying to burn an *.ogg.
Furthermore: Is it the fault of the new KDEmod, that I am not anymore able to put the main toolbar in konqueror and the adress bar into the same level? They're wasting space now, even though it was perfect before.

I have the same problem with k3b and audio cds...
I`ll try to check out whats happening here...
chaosgeisterchen: What do you mean with "into the same level" ?
I have all the entries i need (back, forward, up, reload, addressbar) in one toolbar, no problem...

It seems impossible for me.. I cannot drag the adress bar on the same level as the main toolbar and if I disable the adress bar and add the adressbar (through configuration) to the main toolbar, the adressbar will not be showed at all.
It's too strange.
And thanks for looking at the problem with k3b - in advance.
