did you also added and set-up your printer in KDE?
mata_svada,
i think the only patch that _possibly_ changes this behaviour, could be the rounded selection box patch in kdelibs... Maybe you try it without that patch, as this behaviour doesnt annoy me...

Kopete always crashes when adding a jabber account.. I think it's because of jingle, but without jingle stuff it complains about the "missing" jabber plugin.
Offline
buddabrod,
jabber works fine here... what is your version of ortp?
If its below 0.13.0, then please upgrade to 0.13 from community and it should be ok...
Kopete contains a patch to make jabber / jingle working with newer versions of ortp than 0.7.1... I dont know if it still works with 0.7.1 because the ortp api is changed with nearly every update...

Have you tried to turn it off and on again?

buddabrot,
do the following: pacman -S ortp glib2 expat speex libjingle
i just deleted my jabber account and registered it again... kopete crashed on the first try, but after installing libjingle it works now...

fk,
the gtk depencency comes maybe with beagle, i dont know... but there is no gtk dependency in the main kdemod packages...

fk,
poppler is needed to render pdf documents... but you are right, i should move this dependency to kpdf ![]()
Its all explained here ...
Poppler >= 0.3.1 Optional Poppler is a PDF rendering library. Some KDE applications can provide enhanced information about PDF files using Poppler. kdegraphics

Oh well... that's weird *g*
I just began building the 64Bit version of kdemod... so 64Bit users may be happy tomorrow afternoon ![]()
I'll fix that issue right away in the 64Bit version.
EDIT: We finally found the real problem. It's automake 1.10... it's libtool seems to have a bug.
So if we downgrade that to 1.9 the build will go fine without that obviously wrong LIBRARY line in it ![]()
That was a really hard one. Took us about 4 hours to find and fix, so the 64Bit build will be a bit late afternoon tomorrow I think.

update
changes:
- fixed the qt profile which messed up quite a lot. sorry for the inconvenience and our attempt to do a simple fix.
- added taskbar-compiz (with viewports support) to kdemod-extra
- minor fixes for kopete .install file
- minor fixes for kdebase .install file
this should solve the build errors that came with the last qt package... a bug report has been filed about the broken automake...

I can't start kde. It complains that several commands missing but I checked /opt/kde/bin directory and they _are_ there. Is that because I'm running Arch64 and kdemod is built on 686?

oh dear; you should never install packages on arch64 which have been built for i686! You should remove them all.

Yes I did and now reverted to KDE. Just want to make sure kdemod is built for 686.

arch64 kdemod build is currently in progress... I am running it currently for testing ![]()
kdegraphics didn't build overnight and some development packages are not done yet but it seems it works flawless currently.
I start uploading it to the KDEmod server if funkyou creates a directory where i can store the files and if all built correctly.
I have only DSL so be patient. Uploads need their time though ![]()
EDIT: kdegraphics built now... "kdegraphics-kamera" is currently missing because of a bug in sourcecode. Working on kerry now.

about the KDE depends on GTK, imho this is the fault off poppler, as it shouldn't DEPEND on gtk, but have it optional. Other distributions have poppler-gtk and poppler-qt, the poppler on arch doesn't even seem to have qt support so you need to compile your own poppler to be able to have poppler support in KDE 4...

Yes, i know
We are currently changing the repo to include the 64bit packages...
If you're on i686, just change the pacman.conf entry to:
[kdemod]
Server = http://kdemod.ath.cx/repo/current/i68664bit packages will be uploaded shortly, they should be ready this evening...

I have a request:
Which graphic was used for the Kicker on Screenshot 7/8 on the kdemod-site? And where to get wallpapers like the one used on them? I am very much longing for these.
And last, but not least, even it is exceeding the topic: How to get the color of text in the Kicker white with leaving everything else black?

First off let me say that I just installed kdemod and I love it.. It's exactly what I thought I was missing in Arch! Now I have KDE without some of the bloat.
One thing I noticed on my install was that my DPI was set to 90x96 by default. This seems like an odd setting to me... wouldn't something more square be better (eg. 96x96).
Of coarse I managed to force 96x96 by adding "ServerArgsLocal=-dpi 96" to /opt/kde/share/config/kdm/kdmrc and it seems to look better to me. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me though..
Thankz for the many hours I'm sure you have put into making kdemod possible!
