[SOLVED] Problems with GNOME

Recently I upgraded my packages and I think since then GNOME has more problems than usual. If I mount an external hard drive it crashes, if I unmount it, it also crashes. Also it crashes sometimes when switching workspaces or if I start a program like Chrome.
I just want to know whether this is a general problem or if it's a problem with my configuration.

Re: [SOLVED] Problems with GNOME

It runs very stable for me (no crash in the last weeks, but using it daily). But currently there is still an open issue with some extensions crashing the shell randomly. If you have a few extensions installed you could be affected, see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=788931

I would suggest trying to disable all extensions, and enabling them again one by one. If you can identify an extension that causes frequent crashes you should report this as a bug to the extension developer.

If this is actually true (I'm skeptical) then given phw's response, you should now edit your first post to prepend [SOLVED] to the title.

If your stated goal for this thread is not actually true, then you'll also need to edit your first post to give *some* relevant information to help solve your problem, as there currently is none.

Thank you! The issue with my external hard drive was the Places Status Indicator extension. I don't even know why I had this installed.
