Re: amdgpu open source

have you enable cik and si and i think you may need to do cu_enabled as well for kernel params

i lost the ability to rotate my screen and ive gone thru every mesa-git mesa llvm and barebones xorg.conf files  everytime there is an upgrade to kernel or mesa or anything display related i have battledamdgpu. can always blacklist it and use radeon instead

im seriously losing my mind im wiping in a few mins just backed up home looking forward to wayland but slow

anyway i feel your pain guy, its really a lot of fun but frustrating at times big_smile

Re: amdgpu open source

Is this thread about OpenCL?

I have a new Radeon RX 560. I uninstalled "xf86-video-ati" and installed "xf86-video-amdgpu", rebooted, and "lsmod" shows the "amdgpu" module is loaded. Games run great.

The output of "clinfo" for me is "Number of platforms 0". (FYI I'm currently using SSH.)

Re: amdgpu open source

Same card as OP and have both xf86-video-ati and xf86-video-amdgpu packages installed but set only the amdgpu module in mkinitcpio.conf, also had to set kernel parameter

amdgpu.dc=0

to stop HDMI audio  errors.
I keep the xf86-video-ati package in case i have to fall back on IGFX, also radeon-profile-git needs it.
You don't need the xf86-video-ati as others already mentioned.
clinfo Number of platforms 1 and full output no errors. Radeon RX 550 Series (POLARIS12 / DRM 3.23.0 / 4.15.3-1-ARCH, LLVM 5.0.1)
