No sensors or fans found with lm_sensors, Ryzen/AM4

Hi,

Upgraded to 4.15 earlier today, which supposedly contains the new k10temp driver for Ryzen CPUs Issue Link
However running sensors-detect doesn't detect anything, and fancontrol/pwmconfig doesn't find any fans.

Wondering if I've missed something.

Kernel Version: 4.15.1-2-ARCH

Sensors Output:

Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +33.0°C

k10temp-pci-00c3
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1: +20.0°C (high = +70.0°C)

asus-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
cpu_fan: 0 RPM

Yeah I have the same issue over here, but it appears to be working for other people so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong.

Ryzen temperature is under  `k10temp-pci-00c3`.

If you want more detailed readings from your motherboard such as fan speeds etc, you can install `nct6775-dkms-git` from the AUR, and load/autoload the `nct6775` module afterwards.

Can you people see if this boot parameter helps?

Re: No sensors or fans found with lm_sensors, Ryzen/AM4

Hello!

I've found this post since I can't get anything out of `sensors-detect` either, the last output after all yes/no question being

Sorry, no sensors were detected.
Either your system has no sensors, or they are not supported, or
they are connected to an I2C or SMBus adapter that is not
supported. If you find out what chips are on your board, check
http://www.lm-sensors.org/wiki/Devices for driver status.

Running sensors gives

iwlwifi-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: N/A

k10temp-pci-00c3
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1: +36.8°C (high = +70.0°C)

k10temp-pci-00cb
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1: +36.5°C (high = +70.0°C)

in my case. From previous posts I can see that `k10temp-pci-00c3` should be the temperature of my 1950X.
What is `k10temp-pci-00cb` supposed to be, then?

I don't know (yet) much about sensors, so I don't know if the following question makes sense: what about other sensors? My TR is mounted on a X399 Aorus Gaming 7, but in the user guide I haven't found much about sensors/temperatures.

The "DRIVER REMOVAL NOTICE" at the first link tends to keep me away from using that driver. Can anyone tell us more?

Install and load either the it87 or nct6775 kernel modules, depending on your motherboard you may have to try both. There are AUR packages (it87-dkms-git and nct6775-dkms-git) for both.

Re: No sensors or fans found with lm_sensors, Ryzen/AM4

I'm sorry for the late reply.

I've installed both (it87 alone, it87 and nct6775, nct6775 alone), but the output of `sensors-detect` is always the same, i.e. this.

Btw, I think I've found a related issue on GitHub; I'm giving a look at it.

Now I'm lost. It is suposed that from linux 4.15 k10temp does support ryzen temp monitoring, but it doesn't for many mobos? And without it87 and nct6775 gone what can we do? sad sad
