Wacom CTL-472L "One by Wacom" not detected

I am using GNOME3 and logged on Xorg.
I find myself in the following stituation:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/wa … evice_type

I believe I must have installed for-4.4 wrongly. I did the following:
1- moved the .zip file to /usr
2- unzipped it
3- executed autogen.sh which was inside the new folder
4- ran 'sudo make && sudo make install' (as instructed by the print from step 3)
5- ran the two commands from the wiki section for this troubleshooting (there wasn't the wacom.ko.gz but wacom.ko.xz)

I've tried 'xsetwacom --list devices' and 'dmesg | grep -i wacom'. They give me an empty list and an 'unknown device' notification as before.

I've searched for help on google and on the texts in https://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxwacom/ but wasn't able to figure out how to solve my problem.

Searched more on the Linux Wacom Project, and found such messages on the mailing record:
https://sourceforge.net/p/linuxwacom/ma … ?q=CTL-472

Re: Wacom CTL-472L "One by Wacom" not detected

I bought a Wacom CTL-472 lately. I am not 100% sure that it is the same model as you own but maybe this helps:

The support for the tablet is in the linuxwacom repository but it is not yet released.
Using the wacom AUR package did not help for me as they use the latest release.

I had to checkout the sources for the linux kernel driver and build / install it myself.
Only the kernel drivers have to be built this way, the wacom X drivers work fine with it.
