After the last update sometimes my monitor plugged via displayport blinks for a fraction of second. Sometimes it happes once in 5 seconds, sometimes it does not happen in few minutes. Any ideas where to start looking for a fix?

Seems to be a bug w/ the proprietary nvidia driver starting in 390.25 and the Composite Pipeline. https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topi … e-empty-/2
AFAIK there's no real solution other than disabling the composition pipeline.

Thanks for the reply! That explains a lot.
Bummer. Turns out that I cannot avoid both screen tearing and flickering at the same time with nvidia 390 drivers. I guess I'll have to stick with 387 and kernel 4.14.14.
Damn, I alwas have issues with the new nvidia drivers every few months...
