evolution-source-registry 100% CPU

I noticed my laptop battery running down much faster than usual recently and when I investigated it appeared that the program /usr/lib/evolution-data-server/evolution-source-registry is running one core to 100% and never stopping.

Is this something that I've configured wrong? Something others are experiencing? What does that program even do? It's irritating to have to kill it every time I'm using the battery and to run out of battery when I forget.

Re: evolution-source-registry 100% CPU

Exact same issue here. I just downgraded to the previous verison of evolution data server (evolution-data-server-3.26.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz) to fix that problem.

Yeah, same problem here.
It's draining battery at a blazing speed! tongue
Can't seem to find a bug ticket either.
Will try to collect some more info on this and maybe post a new bug ticket later.

Re: evolution-source-registry 100% CPU

The only thing I can find that could potentially be the bug is this, however it doesn't seem right.

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=793031

Might be worth submitting a bug report to gnome if this isn't it.

Re: evolution-source-registry 100% CPU

There is a bug report for a problem that sounds a lot like your problem:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=793466

I had the same problem and fixed it like suggested in the bug report by searching
~/.cache/evolution/sources/    and
~/.config/evolution/sources/
for *.source files with 0 bytes size and deleting the file.
