Hello Community,
I would like to present you Searchmonkey, a graphical file search tool which, on one hand, is more powerful then similar graphical tools like Catfish (offering more options like file size filter, distinct search keywords for file name and content, regex support and more) but on the other hand is, well, graphical. It has three versions: GTK2 (a GTK3 version is currently being developed), QT4 and Java. I am not the developer of Searchmonkey, but I got in contact with the its developers after creating an AUR package for its GTK version: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/searchmonkey-gtk/
Searchmonkey’s development was rather dead for quite some time but now it is being actively developed again, in particular, the GUI is being changed a lot. The devs are now searching for input from users about how to design the GUI such that it is easy to use and intuitive and at the same time powerful.
Here is how it currently looks like:

GTK3 version (currently being worked on, just drafts): https://i.imgur.com/pNDpq38.png https://i.imgur.com/gSX0lS2.png
Your input is most welcome!

The very worst thing you can do with free software is to download it, see that it doesn't work for some reason, leave it, and tell your friends that it doesn't work. - Tuomas Lukka
