Cannot run any programs with Wine - err:module:import_dll

Hello everybody, I am having trouble with wine and cannot seem to get to the bottom of it. In the past, I have installed wine and it has worked right out of the box with something like "wine notepad.exe". However on my most recent installation, I have been getting a huge list of errors about missing modules. I am using wine-staging as opposed to regular wine as I thought it might help my issue, but they both produce the same results.

For example, when trying to run notepad I get the following output.

Shows you're missing a lot of dll files, run notepad.exe with a new Wine prefix:

env WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-2 wine notepad.exe

and see if that works, if yes, then your current Wine config is borked and best you remove your ~/.wine directory to start afresh.
