[SOLVED] Configuring L2TP-IPsec vpn client

Hi all!

I'm using connman as a network manager and now I need to configure a vpn connection.
I've been googling all morning, but networking is not my strong suit and I'm pretty much lost.

I've been asked to create a  L2TP/IPSec PSK vpn connection. I have the server address, username, password and an IPsec pre-shared key.

I tried to create a config file in /var/lib/connman-vpn, but I'm not sure about the what provider I need that will work for what I need. I don't know if I should be using openvpn or xl2tp or something else. Do I need strongswan?

As I said, I'm lost and any help is welcomed.

Strongswan is server side. You need a ipsec client to connect to your provider. Best to work with provider to get support otherwise take a look at the OpenSwan wiki.

Re: [SOLVED] Configuring L2TP-IPsec vpn client

I managed to configure the vpn client using those links:
https://www.elastichosts.com/blog/linux … vpn-client
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Op … ient_setup

It looks like a lot of config but it's mainly copy/paste and replacing the server ip, shared key and username and password.
