Dear all,
I recently switched from Gnome to KDE and I'm having some problems with accessing my mobile phone. I installed libmtp as well as the kio-extras package.
When I connect my phone via USB, I get the desktop notification that it was found. When I try to access it the following error message appears:
File or folder udi=/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb3/3-10/3-10.2/ does not exist.
mtp-detect lists my phone correctly:
libmtp version: 1.1.14

No, it's a known bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387454

Not entirely sure if this something dolphin has to fix or the kernel, usual consensus is that if kernel breaks a userspace program the kernel is at fault. However this might still be something to fix in how dolphin accesses the device.
Obvious workarounds are to use another MTP client and/or (since MTP as a protocol is dumb as hell anyway...) use some networkbased access method like kdeconnect or a FTP share or similar.

Hi V1del,
Many thanks for the advise regarding KDE Connect. Just installed it and it's great. Does exactly what I was looking for.
Many thanks,
Marco

Yes! I think the issue is related to Dolphin, I installed it and the removable media (phone or whatever...) get back to work as usual.

You are digging up a 7 year old thread. Whatever your issue was it most likely wasn't what was being discussed here.
Don't necrobump: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Genera … bumping%22
