[Solved] warning: ..... file information for etc/grub.d/10_linux

I just applied the latest grub-2:2.02-5  update and received a number of warnings about missing file information:

I did a Google search for warning: could not get file information for etc/grub.d/10_linux, but could not find any references to a similar problem. So, after some thought, and running grub-customizer to check if it threw up any flags, I did a reboot without problems.

Does anybody have any ideas about what is going on, and/or should I be concerned?

The only thing I can think of is that I recently installed Sophos Anti-virus for Linux and have on-access scanning turned on. Because of the overhead with file searches and drop-down navigation menus, I had to exclude large folders like /bin/ and, in particular, /lib/. So, I am wondering if the on-access scan might in some way be responsible.

Thanks for your thoughts
Irvine

Re: [Solved] warning: ..... file information for etc/grub.d/10_linux

I think I have solved this.

To eliminate the Sophos on-access scan, I tried excluding /etc/grub.d and re-installing grub to no effect. However, after giving it some thought, I realised I needed to either reboot or otherwise restart the savd daemon. So, after the umpteenth re-install of grub, I finally managed to do it without any warnings.
