systemctl suspend

I suppose this is harmless because I dont experience any network issues after resumption but I'd still like to know why this is happening and how I could fix it. This only happens when the system goes into Suspend / Hibernate, not otherwise.
Any advice / suggestions is appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: e1000e eno1: Detected Hardware Unit Hang after Suspend

I'd say that even if nothing is apparently broken it should not be doing that. You should report this problem upstream and if possible try to narrow this problem down to a kernel version that introduced this problem.

The ideal would be if you could bisect the kernel and find out which specific commit introduces the problem, but be advised that it will take time. The upside, from my experience, is that if when you report the problem you also pinpoint the commit that introduces the problem (as a result of bisecting the kernel), the report will get attention faster as it shows that you have done some effort instead of just complaining it doesn't work.

Re: e1000e eno1: Detected Hardware Unit Hang after Suspend

Thanks for the advice, I will investigate further and take it upstream. Though, I can confirm that this happens only if hibernation is involved, be it hybrid-sleep or traditional hibernation. And if I run the following command before going into hibernation no such warnings / messages appear in the logs and all goes well.

sudo ip link set eno1 down

This has been reported by other people as well, https://serverfault.com/questions/61648 … -unit-hang, I will try the ethtool settings listed and see if that helps.

Re: e1000e eno1: Detected Hardware Unit Hang after Suspend

Disabling TSO, GSO, GRO nad maybe pcie_aspm is a workaround at best. This really should be reported upstream, if no one reports the problem it might never get fixed.
