[Solved] Kernel 4.15.11 fails to mount boot/efi...

... and you end up on an emergency shell.

Downgrading to 4.15.10 (along with headers etc) makes if boot again.

When i run systemctl status boot-efi.mount it complained about the partition being vfat

Sounds more like the kernel image being loaded is not the one that was written by the update.

What does your partition setup look like, which bootloader do you use?

A bootloaderless EFIstub setup.

The partition isn't anything weird:
A vfat for booting (only thing working with EFI)
A swap
An ext4 for everything else.

The stuff need to be updated after a kernel update are using a systemd service.

Is the efi boot vfat partition listed/mounted through fstab ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

(A works at time B)  && (time C > time B ) ≠  (A works at time C)
