[SOLVED] Wine: Missing libtxc_dxtn for BattleNet via Lutris

Hi,

it seems that I'm missing libtxc_dxtn even the latest mesa and lib32-mesa are installed.

My BN lobby keeps permanent refreshing itself infinitely.
I already described my problem in the Lutris forum, but we were not able to find out what the matter is.

I just cannot get it working and don't know why. On a friends machine using Manjaro everything works fine.

Mesa provides everything libtxc_dxtn used to provide. And if you are using the proprietary drivers, they had their own implementation anyway.

Get Lutris out of the picture and use system wine, preferably wine-staging and follow the instructions here: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager. … &iId=28855

make sure you have lib32-gnutls and lib32-libldap installed. If it works with system wine complain to the lutris devs that they are building their builds wrong. There's no reason wine should hard depend on libtxc

Thanks for your advice.
I did it as you suggested and installed wine-staging-pba from the AUR and did it myself.
But there are still some things to learn about Winecfg and Winetricks.
Works not perfect, but from here I can build uppon.

I'd rather have  used the package already in the repos, but yeah the problem with these "wine installers" is that they use outdated libraries that will run into problems on an updated Arch stack. And in a majority of cases they really don't add anything you couldn't do yourself by fiddling with winecfg/checking relevant app db pages.

I'd have preferred it from the official repos aswell, but the in the Wine's AppDB recommended PBA-branch was only in the AUR.
Well I'm pretty new to Arch and there is so much to learn and all at once, but it's hell of a fun
