NEW FEATURES:
  (1) X.org 7.1 Support
  (2) Fedora Core Packaging Support

ISSUES RESOLVED:
  (1)  XGL Startup issues
  (2) Resolved issues with Java's OpenGL accelerated Java2D pipeline.
  (3) TV out support for Radeon X1K Cards

Does this mean ATI's actually the first out of the gate with official 7.1 support?  I don't think nvidia's got it yet... mind I haven't been keeping up with nv's drivers either, so I dunno for sure.

Important points of note from the release page:

Attempting to use 3D applications on Radeon 9000/9100/9200/9250 and FireGL 8x00 products fails to start and reports back something similar to "[fglrx] API ERROR: could not register entrypoint for SelectTextureSGIS". Further details can be found in topic number 737-22637

Loading the XVideo Extension on 64-bit Xorg 6.9+ systems causes the X Server to segfault on launch with ATI Radeon X1K products. Further details and the workaround can be found in topic number 737-22837

Users with X Server X.org 7.1 can not play any video using XV. The ATI AVIVO Video adaptor is not present. Further details and the workaround can be found in topic number 737-22852

Looks like the API Entry point error is known, but still not resolved.  As well, xv seems to have some problems on 64-bit Xorg systems and Xorg 7.1.

@iphitus: I'm going to be pretty busy this weekend, might not have a chance to look at this version for packaging for a little while, sry.

Beggars can't be choosers.

Then again I didn't beg for an ATi card, I paid for it...

I choose a laptop which is far better than most - however this company makes only ati spec'd laptops....soo..only downside to my laptop..

Howver with the new amd+ati stuff - the drivers are coming out on a monthly basis.
