GnuPG-Agent takes ages to show pinentry window

Hi,

I have issues using GnuPG for a while now. I can't remember what might have caused it, but when I need to enter my passphrase for my GPG-Key, it takes almost a minute that the pinentry window shows up.
I already removed my ~/.gnupg folder and just imported my key back again, to make sure that I did not misconfigured something.

When I configure allow-loopback-pinentry the prompt shows up on the command line immediately. But if not, I get the following verbose output:

gpg: using character set 'utf-8'
# off=0 ctb=85 tag=1 hlen=3 plen=268
:pubkey enc packet: version 3, algo 1, keyid 580846415C4EXXXX
    data: [2047 bits]
gpg: public key is 580846415C4EXXXX
gpg: using subkey 580846415C4EXXXX instead of primary key 7FE246241294XXXX
gpg: pinentry launched (26652 gtk2 1.1.0 /dev/pts/2 rxvt-256color :0.0)

Then it takes a very long while before the pinentry window finally shows up and it continues with:

gpg: public key encrypted data: good DEK
# off=271 ctb=d2 tag=18 hlen=2 plen=172 new-ctb
:encrypted data packet:
    length: 172
    mdc_method: 2
gpg: using subkey 580846415C4EXXXX instead of primary key 7FE246241294XXXX
gpg: encrypted with 2048-bit RSA key, ID 580846415C4EXXXX, created 2017-08-25
      "XXXX"
gpg: AES256 encrypted data
# off=292 ctb=a3 tag=8 hlen=1 plen=0 indeterminate
:compressed packet: algo=2
# off=294 ctb=ac tag=11 hlen=2 plen=135
:literal data packet:
    mode b (62), created 1523891700, name="text_file.txt",
    raw data: 116 bytes
gpg: original file name='text_file.txt'
File 'decrypted2.txt' exists. Overwrite? (y/N) y
gpg: decryption okay

I am pretty sure that I already tried everything but really hope that somebody here has an idea how I can fix it. At the moment using pass in the browser is a pita because of this.

Thanks in advance.

Re: GnuPG-Agent takes ages to show pinentry window

Just noticed that after I call gpg and pinentry is called I have a defunct dbus process in ps. It disappears after a while. I already found some posts about some dbus issues, but wasn't able to figure out what might be the reason for it in detail.

EDIT: I found a few hints here. Solution was to de-install the gnome-keyring. I can't remember what I installed it for in the first place, but deinstalling did the trick. The described solution to start gnome-keyring with given parameters did not change anything though.

Mark as solved.
