[SOLVED] DNS resolution extremely slow

Hello there,

I'm having trouble retrieving databases and files with pacman. I can browse the internet normally, however I get the following error:

as you can see, I am able to resolve host names via the 'problematic' connection:

inchw0rm@blackrose ~ % host google.com
google.com has address 172.217.23.174
google.com has IPv6 address 2a00:1450:4001:820::200e

strangely it does work over wi-fi (which is another subnetwork), the problem occurs only with ethernet.
Disabling ipv6 doesn't do anything.
Advice where to look at needed.

UPD: resolving host names works, but takes a lot of time.

UPD: I further investigated the problem, and as it seems it has nothing to do with pacman. It has something to do with the network. That's also the reason why I renamed the topic. Any way all other machines seem to work fine, so I assume it's something with my arch linux laptop.

Best

Ok, it was a faulty network socket. Thanks everyone.
