system crashes when doing "atomic copy" using beyo

hi.  i tried doing the suspend to disk (hibernate) command using the beyond kernel on my Thinkpad T43.  i got a crash when it started doing the atomic copy.  the gentoo wiki that is linked from the arch suspend wiki page said that if this happened, to disable apic options for the processor in the kernel:

Troubleshooting

If your suspend hangs at the point: "Doing atomic copy" , then try disabling the following options in your kernel:

[ ] Local APIC support on uniprocessors
[ ]   IO-APIC support on uniprocessors (NEW)

so, i went into ABS, downloaded the beyond-kernel stuff and recompiled and reinstalled with these options disabled but it still happened just as before.  is there anything else that can be tried?  thanks.

This is a known bug with suspend2 in beyond. A fix is expected in the beyond3 release.

I'm using kernel26suspend2 now.

I got a suspend to ram and a suspend to disk backup with the fglrx xorg driver working correctly without, without even trying.

/me is still in shock

hi could you tell me how you got the suspend to ram working?

edit- hibernate to disk now works i think, not sure about resuming, is it normal to have to log in to GDM again?

thanks
