Vim YouCompleteMe parse error

I'm trying to install YouCompleteMe plugin for vim, but can't seem to make it work. I've tried both the AUR package and the official git way, but both give me this error:

"clangparseerror an ast deserialization error occurred while parsing the translation unit"

I've even tried copying the directory from a different machine on which it's working and still nothing. What might be my problem? Does it have something to do with clang version or some such?
