[REQUEST] wine-stable-bin

Can someone please make and upload bin version of wine-stable?

It takes more than 2 hours for the wine-stable package to build on a gen-3 i5 netbook:
==> Making package: wine-stable 3.0-1 (Sat Apr 21 21:29:05 EEST 2018)
==> Finished making: wine-stable 3.0-1 (Sat Apr 21 23:54:56 EEST 2018)

That's a whole lot of CO2 saved by pre-building wine-stable.

Creating the -bin package should be straightforward, for someone who knows how to do it. I'm afraid I don't quite understand the steps myself

Here is the info I have collected so far

The stable branch (source based): https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/wine-stable/

I guess most of the info from the PKGBUILD of wine-stable would apply to wine-stable-bin also:

Re: [REQUEST] wine-stable-bin

Unless upstream provides standalone binary packages (I couldn't find any at a quick glance), what you're asking would require some kind user to build and host arch specific binaries. In that case it would usually be simpler to create repository with built wine-stable packages, instead of creating another AUR package.

You can also vote the AUR package and hope that TU picks it up to official repos.

Re: [REQUEST] wine-stable-bin

No one should be uploading packages which rebundle their own prebuilt version of an AUR package. bin packages are meant to be for upstream binaries, not repackaging pacman packages for the benefit of people who don't want to compile it themselves but don't understand how to properly host or use a thirdparty repository.
