404 error trying to install community/blender

Hey there, i am trying to install blender. and i am getting the following error :

error: failed retrieving file 'blender-17:2.79.b-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from mirror.thekinrar.fr : The requested URL returned error: 404
error: failed retrieving file 'blender-17:2.79.b-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from mirrors.ukfast.co.uk : The requested URL returned error: 404
error: failed retrieving file 'blender-17:2.79.b-5-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz' from mirrors.celianvdb.fr : The requested URL returned error: 404
warning: failed to retrieve some files
error: failed to commit transaction (unexpected error)
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

I thought it was related to the proxy they use at work. But i tried again at home tonight, changed my mirrorlist according to the wiki, still getting a 404 error on all mirrors.

Any suggestion?

Re: 404 error trying to install community/blender

404 means the file no longer exists on the server, because a newer version is available:

pacman -Syu

Always update your system.

Re: 404 error trying to install community/blender

a good practice would be to install packages with ` pacman -Syu <package> ` instead of ` pacman -S <package> ` unless there's a reason not to
