I'm currently running my Arch Linux system with GNOME 3 V. 3.28.1. I don't particularly like it's aesthetics, but compared to others, it's the best option in my view (KDE is also nice, but the lack of pre-installed apps turns me off regardless). My journey through many Linux distros started with Kali Linux. It runs a GNOME 3 desktop environment as well, but it is heavily modified: different icons, smaller side panel... It even supports desktop icons, which GNOME 3 ditched, for some stupid reason (I seriously hope that they'll bring them back soon). All in all, you have to know that for me, Kali desktop is *perfect* in every way imaginable and I *want* it on my polished Arch system. For example, the default terminal for GNOME 3 on Arch is *horrible*; no colours, weird monospace font... I searched all over the internet to find a way to implement my favourite desktop environment into arch, but I failed miserably. That is to be expected, as I have been using Arch for only 2 months now. Well, I *love* this OS and I'm seriously considering switching from Debian to it entirely if only I can get Kali desktop to work on it. Fast response times, smooth execution, insane comatibility, easy syntax... It's wonderful.
