Image make over ...

Hi,

I want to upload some of my photos to my site, what size and format to use thats best for viewing on the web....

atm raw images are 2522x1944 waaay too big ... need to reduce size of image & file ?

High quality JPEG is nice for big pictures with lots of gradients, else use PNG. I generally resize my shots to 800x600 when I need to post them on internet. If you need to show more details on your shots, go for a 1024x768 resolution.

emmm png ... I would like to reduce size 800x600 is ok ... loads quicker

You can work with compression levels with PNG images. I personally find that PNG is as good or superior to JPEG at similar file sizes. You just need to play around and see what you like. One helpful hint: ImageMagick is a great way to do batch editing of files. You can resize and convert images one or many at a time; and since it has no GUI, it can do it in a hurry. jpeg regularly produces MUCH smaller image sizes.

I do not need full screen 1024x768 or 800x600 sized images

a Quarter of that would do....

Ok ok I want to upload a photo of my new chucks there I said it, I feel better now  :shock:
