[SOLVED] Keyboard not working in SDDM

My keyboard is not working. I can‘t enter tty via Ctrl+Alt+F1. What can I do?

I use KDE Plasma and Grub2. Is there any way to get to a console to make an update?

Please don’t tell me I have to boot a Live Disc and chroot. sad

Re: [SOLVED] Keyboard not working in SDDM

Okay, I can enter the maintenance mode by entering single in the kernel line, but updating or downgrading SDDM doesn’t change the problem. I‘ve tried changing to lighdm and gdm. They don‘t start. It seems to be an X related problem.

Downgrading libinput as suggested in the thread above doesn’t work.

Re: [SOLVED] Keyboard not working in SDDM

Please remove the superfluous cry for help from your topic title: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ow_to_post

Can you switch to a tty after sddm starts? If so, there's no need to alter your runlevel/target. If not, then that suggests something lower level than sddm is preventing you from inputting text. Post the journal from an affected session, and if you suspect X, post the X log too.

Mod note: moving to NC.

Firefox crashes on windows if I try to paste the journalctl in here, since the file is of size 180MB. Wonder why that happened. I have to leave now. Will get back to this later. Hope there is something useful in the Xorg log. I'm pretty sure it's X, since the keyboard also doesn't work on startx.

Re: [SOLVED] Keyboard not working in SDDM

Systemd#Filtering_output if you filter the journal output down to a single boot that should hopefully be much smaller.

Somehow the synaptics driver is going rogue and tries to cover all sorts of devices - notably those unsupported.
Look at the files in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d and /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d - I'd say "especially those not provided by any stock package", but I guess you're still on antergos...

Re: [SOLVED] Keyboard not working in SDDM

@seth: Thank you! That was the problem. I was confused that in KDE two finger tap, was not emulating a right click. So I read somewhere to uncomment „MatchIsTouch“ in 50-synaptics.conf. Later I discovered that KDE uses two finger tap for middle click and three finger tap for right click. I changed the settings, but didn’t change the conf file. Now it works again. So it was just my own carelessness. Sorry for that!
