Segfault in libmutter on system startup

Hi all,
On system startup the Gnome desktop environment fails to load. journalctl -b yields the following:

kernel: gnome-shell[463]: segfault at 20 ip 00007f1eac2bb7b5 sp 00007ffcac478340 error in libmutter-2.so.0.0.0[7f1eac1b5000+183000]
systemd[1]: Created slice system-systemd\x2dcoredump.slice.
systemd[1]: Started Process Core Dump (PID 496/UID 0)
gnome-session[456]: gnome-session-binary[456]: WARNING: Application 'org.gnome.Shell.desktop' killed by signal 11
gnome-session-binary[456]: WARNING. Application 'org.gnome.Shell.desktop' killed by signal 11
gnome-session-binary[456]: Unrecoverable failure in required component org.gnome.Shell.desktop

Is anyone facing similar problems and are there any ideas as to what can be done to solve this?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Segfault in libmutter on system startup

Did you try disabling all shell extensions?
Does this happen on both Xorg and wayland?
Can you start gnome manually without GDM?
