[REQUEST/SOLVED] KVIRC 5.0.0 Beta 1 {2017-12-29}

Hey everyone, I would like to request Arch AUR community for "KVIRC 5.0.0 Beta 1" which was released back in December 29th, 2017. I only seen versions 4 in AUR so far. But this beta release has a lot of good fixes/changes which versioin 4 does not offer.

Website: http://www.kvirc.net/

GitHub: https://github.com/kvirc/KVIrc

Release: https://github.com/kvirc/KVIrc/releases/tag/5.0.0-beta1

Related Version News: http://www.kvirc.net/?id=news&story=201 … st&lang=en

Thank you for your help!

Looks like by using this package here > https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kvirc-git-nokde/ Gave me version 5.0.0 Aria. So I guess this is Beta 1 then? Can anyone confirm please?

No, that's a git package, it will give you the latest version available by compiling the latest commit, so it is likely to be newer than the beta, however for the purposes of simply wanting to use the latest version, it will likely suffice.

git packages track a branch of the upstream git tree.  https://github.com/kvirc/KVIrc/commit/c … ef8e2b76ac is the commit for the tag 5.0.0-beta1
If you wanted that commit not the latest you would need to change the source line to specify that commit or the tag.

    -DOPENSSL_INCLUDE_DIR=/usr/include/openssl-1.0 \
    -DOPENSSL_SSL_LIBRARY=/usr/lib/openssl-1.0/libssl.so \
    -DOPENSSL_CRYPTO_LIBRARY=/usr/lib/openssl-1.0/libcrypto.so

can be dropped from the PKGBUILD as openssl (1.1) is supported with 5.0 which the PKGBUILD lists as a dependency instead of openssl-1.0 anyway.
