Civilization VI not working properly

When I launch Civilization VI via Steam runtime, it hangs on the loading screen. I found that I have to launch the game in Steam native mode, and if I do it launches, but create game screen has only blank options (as if no assets were loaded) and no button can be clicked. That is, animation works but nothing happens. That also applies to the "back" button.
I also found in one thread on the forum that Intel Core i7 (which I use) is unsupported by the game for whatever the reason (although it doesn't make much sense to me) but it worked perfectly under Windows and Linux Mint.

Post the terminal output of a failing start as well as maybe

glxinfo | grep OpenGL
