Hello
I'm trying to use VirtualBox which I just downloaded but I have an error
$ VirtualBox
WARNING: The vboxdrv kernel module is not loaded. Either there is no module
available for the current kernel (4.16.6-1-ARCH) or it failed to
load. Please recompile the kernel module and install it by
sudo /sbin/vboxconfig
You will not be able to start VMs until this problem is fixed.
VirtualBox: supR3HardenedMainGetTrustedMain: dlopen("/usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox.so",) failed: /usr/lib/libQt5Core.so.5: version `Qt_5.11' not found (required by /usr/lib/virtualbox/VirtualBox.so)
$ sudo /sbin/vboxconfig
sudo: /sbin/vboxconfig: command not found
I just tried
sudo modprobe vboxdrv
but...
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'vboxdrv': Exec format error
I've downloaded the virtualbox-host-modules-arch.
Could you please help me ?
Thanks !

Install virtualbox from official repositories, and follow the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VirtualBox
EDIT. Sorry about the RTFM style comment, but the wording on your post makes it unclear whether you installed virtualbox from arch repos, or some other way, and the fact that you tried running vboxconfig suggests that you didn't follow instructions on the aforementioned wiki page.
Also please update all packages on your system, and especially make sure you're running the latest kernel.

Please also edit your thread title to one that actually reflects your issue: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ow_to_post

That's odd..
From my experience, virtualbox (installed via pacman) has always worked 'out-of-the-box' so to speak.
Looks like you may be running KDE? Possible issue with Qt/pkg conflicts of some sort?

And it will work out of the box on an up-to-date system. This is a partial update problem, which is not supported.
