Stuttering issue in video playback applications and browsers

Hi,

I am a newbie Arch user. A few weeks ago I ran a systemwide upgrade and following that, certain applications exhibit weird stuttering even on normal load. The behaviour can be replicated when:
- I play videos on a video playback application (like VLC)
- I scroll on a browser with a lot of multimedia content

But animations/transitions on other applications run just fine. I do not know where to even begin looking for logs for this specific issue. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

I run Gnome 3 on Wayland and mainline kernel. Tried using the official Arch Linux kernel but the issue persists.

Thanks!

Video card(s) and driver(s)? Versions? Related journal entries? What was upgraded: post your pacman.log.
