Modern fonts for Arch Linux console

Hi everyone! I would like to know if it is possible to add new fonts for the console. Specifically modern fonts and if it is possible get better rederizing. I mean the basic Arch Linux console (tty) and not a terminal emulator on a graphic enviroment. Read the Wiki about the topic https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … sole_fonts and I can switch fonts, restore default etc. but can't find a way to add new fonts and a source of them.

First link: it is possible to convert TTF fonts to other formats. As far as I know and looking at the list of available fonts on:

 /usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/

... Arch Linux accepts PSFU, PSF and FNT extensions. Some fonts don't have extensions, they are just gzipped. To convert them I would have to use FontForge and hope it works.

Second link: It is also possible to convert BDF and PCF fonts to PSF and use them as a console font with command:

./bdf2psf --fb yourbdffont.bdf /whateverpath/current/usr/share/bdf2psf/standard.equivalents /whateverpath/usr/share/bdf2psf/required.set+/whateverpath/usr/share/bdf2psf/useful.set 512 /path/to/nameofpsf-uni-11.psf

Finally third link: refers to a replacement of Linux terminal but its development stopped in 2010 so I prefer not to go that way.

What about the better resolution on console? More define borders for fonts for example. Is it possible?

fbterm is just one example, there are others.  I currently use yaft.

While those three links should give some good hints at answers to you initial question, they should also suggest that you can find answers to your questions with a bit of searching.
