After an upgrade (I think), i3status began reporting "No battery" in the battery indicator.
The acpi command returns nothing
$ acpi
$ acpi -i
$ acpi -b
I have reinstalled acpid, re-enabled and re-started the service to no avail.
$ systemctl enable acpid
$ systemctl start acpid
acpid status appears to be okay I think?
$ systemctl status acpid

Remove the acpi option from your kernel line.

Thanks! That was exactly it.
