Hi: [This is a manual installation of Arch and an installer has not been used. This seems extemporaneous but there has been somebody who thought the contrary way and close a thread of mine.] This happens in both Debian and Arch on the same machine. Googling gave 'dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration' for Debian. I ran it but still that key combination does nothing. Any suggestion? The X11 subversion or release date I cant know it, unfortunately. In case it helps the DE is Xfce 4.12.

Too slow, see above. This is not on by default, you have to configure it in arch.
As for all the details about debian, you'd have to ask on a debian forum.
