Seems to be broken. Right click in the menu area and select "edit menus", menu editor starts in the taskbar (panel) then goes away without ever fully opening.

It's working fine for me. Any other info you can give about the problem?

I replicated the bug on a (quasi) virgin half an hour old 0.7.2 install.
- Right-click on the application menu
- Edit menus
- Box appears in the task bar that says "Starting Menu Editor"
- Nothing ever appears on the desktop
- I am a noob so i'm not sure I can monitor processes correctly, but it sure -doesn't seem like the editor is still running after the box disappears from the task bar.
Here's a screenshot even though I don't think it'll be too useful.
Thank you for your time

The menu editor requires python, but presuming you have it installed you can try to start it from a terminal with the command
python /opt/gnome/bin/gmenu-simple-editor
and see what happens

The menu editor requires python
My install was just a little too virgin it seems. After a few other installs with python dependencies it just started working. I just feel a bit stupid not even starting it in the terminal before posting. It was late and I was tired (yeah right... bad excuse!).
Thanks a lot

Nice that it works, but i think you should file a bug for the gnome-menus package. pygtk? should be added as a dependancy as gnome-menus doesn't work properly without it

edit: nevermind i edited /etc/locale.gen and uncommented my locales and ran locale-gen and it works perfect now. i guess it wasnt a python issue.
