GNOME does not start anymore using Wayland

Hi!
I used to be able to manually launch a gnome-session with wayland using the command:

XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland gnome-session

Now this command runs a couple of seconds then it returns to the command line without showing any output.
Wayland basically works since I'm able to run weston.

Where can I find a log that shows me whats wrong?

Or do you have any ideas what can be wrong?

Thank you very much in advance!

Re: GNOME does not start anymore using Wayland

Finally I got it running again... But the way to get it to work is really weird :-)

I decided to install "xorg-server" to run GNOME using xorg (which worked).

Since then I'm able to launch the Wayland session again by running:
XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland gnome-session

Maybe that seems like a packaging (i. e. forgotten dependency) problem?

Check your journal after a start attempt in either case, it will likely be more telling.

Re: GNOME does not start anymore using Wayland

'xorg-server' is not necessary to start gnome on wayland. However it does require 'xorg-server-xwayland'.
