Hey, when I connect my android phone via usb-c to my computer, it starts charging for just a few seconds and then goes off again. It's not a connection issue, since in sleeping mode the phone keeps charging. Also, setting the connection mode to "transfer files" will keep the the phone charging, as long as there is some action on the phone from time to time (for instance browsing through the folders). It seems like there is some kind of timeout I have to set to infinity in arch?

What power saving are you using? tlp for example does this. USB_DEFAULT_PHONE or something like that.
