With the latest networkmanager-1.12.0-1 I can no longer connect manually using the network manager applet to my openvpn VPN service. If I downgrade the networkmanager package I can manually connect just fine.
The error that is given when trying to connect with the new networkmanager package is:
VPN Connection Failed
Cannot specify device when activating VPNIf I open the network manager and under the General tab for the ethernet connection and tick the "Automatically connect to VPN" box and choose the VPN connection I want it will connect to my VPN on reboot or network re-initialization with out any issue automatically.

I have the same problem.

I have also noticed this problem, but I wouldn't say the fault is with networkmanager. If anything it's more an interaction between networkmanager and the applet, if you use nmcli to control networkmanager then it will connect just fine.

This problem was fixed today with a networkmanager package upgrade. The applet works like it is supposed to now:
