[SOLVED] Xorg takes a long time to start on custom Archiso build

I built archiso from the releng profile with Xorg and DWM added, which output a <1GB image. It takes about 5 minutes to start X!
Other graphical distros that are much larger can boot into X in about 1 minute with the same installation media, on the same machines, why is this?

My xinitrc contains only this line:

exec dwm

Why?

That isn't how the wiki tells you to set it up.
