Kernel upgrade cause to unrecognize USB storage

Hi forum,

I've upgrade to kernel 4.17.10 yesterday, then today I stumble on the problem that inserting a SD card into the reader, or with an external reader, there was no detection. It worked only if plugged prior to boot the machine.
The dmesg told only about the reader but nothing about memory details.
I downgraded to

$ uname -a
Linux AsusG75 4.17.9-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 22 20:23:36 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux

then it's gone back to be usable.

A bit of information

Your /boot wasn't mounted for the upgrade.

Re: Kernel upgrade cause to unrecognize USB storage

The post was reported after the downgrade and the journal referred to the previous boot wink
But I don't know what happened because now I got back to normal. The case is closed big_smile
