Video card? Driver? X or Wayland? Journal or Xorg.log?

You can fix it if you drag that icons with mouse and put them back. I have same issue on my system with Xorg+nVidia proprietary drivers

Can confirm issue with the same setup (Xorg + nVidia) . Nothing of interest in the journal.  sincomil's suggested fix works.

I've fixed the -Syyu problem that borked my system with another -Syyu, and sincomil's fix worked. Although I noticed this:
After the third time I suspend my system after each reboot/startup and wake my system back up, this happens:
https://ibb.co/eAKxJz
I couldn't manage to screenshot it, but that's what my SDDM Breeze theme should look like except with the latest desktop background:
https://ibb.co/jiaeyz

But when I move the mouse and it takes me to the login screen, it should display:

kevin
*text box*
Login

But it displays bars instead of letters (not the bar character, but just bars of different height - the k would be a tall bar and the e would be a small bar):
lIIII
*text box*
lI|II

How do I fix that?

Also, how do I mark the thread as solved afterwards? I can't find the option to edit the title

Problem with font on lock screen seems related to locale.
to close topic you have to edit your starting  post and add prefix "[SOLVED]" or something you want

Haven't encountered this on the login screen, but occasionally have faced an issue with fonts not being rendered properly i.e. bars instead of letters, on the Plasma Desktop, especially the taskbar. This usually happens after resuming from suspend/standby.

Restarting the plasmashell makes it go away.

 killall plasmashell && kstart5 plasmashell

Thanks for the answers!
imdn's fix seems promising, so I will try it out when I next encounter the problem.
